Career Development
As a service organisation our staff are our most valuable asset. For Sunnyfield to continue to grow and realise its 20-year strategy, we need professionally trained and committed staff.
To achieve this goal we support our employees through many training and development programs.
Sunnyfield staff receive on the job, formal and informal training throughout their careers, whether the work be full time or part time. We also encourage our staff to become involved in a broad range of activities and initiatives to develop their skill sets and obtain further experience.
Below is a snapshot of some of the courses and programs you could expect to be part of:
- Mentoring and leadership coaching
- Apprenticeship and traineeships
- Professional development courses
- Role specific training i.e. medication and care training
- Conference and networking opportunities
- Working parties and committees on continuous improvement projects
- Career development programs that are transparent and reviewed between you and your manager regularly
An orientation program is held for all of our new staff on a regular basis. Orientation will give you an insight to Sunnyfield, its visions, people and services divisions. The day consists of various presentations from Colleagues across our business units. You will meet our CEO who will give you an insight to our exciting 20-year strategy along with, a detailed tour of our factories followed by a presentation by the famous Sarah Woodhill who lives in one of our group homes. If you're lucky she'll even play you her song that she recorded. The day is topped off by our Person Centred team who will give you an overview of what to expect and appreciate from a Person Centred organisation.
Awards
We like to recognise our staff for their hard work, passion and achievements. Each month we run an employee excellence program which operates across the whole the organisation. Colleagues have the opportunity to nominate a member of staff for going the extra mile with their role. We celebrate these successes through an awards ceremony with colleagues, managers and our CEO. You also have the opportunity to be Employee/Team of the Year!
Personal Rewards

Culture
Sunnyfield values are Respect, Innovation, Honesty and Trust.
We use the Macquarie University's Voice Project to run regular climate surveys to measure employee engagement and to ensure that our values are reflected in the organisational culture.
Our services are spread all over NSW, and to ensure we work together to achieve our goals, our teams get together regularly through meetings, working parties, team building days and social events.
